It can’t be dated exactly when Kehen was built, but they keep several ancient implements in this temple very well. Those implements inscribed this temple in their manuscript. The inscription “bronze plate” was written in 1204 for this temple. The other inscription, it was said to be in 11th century this place is used by King Anak Wungsu for giving duty and also asking oath for the duty to look after the Kingdom for Anak Wungsu’s Senator. The last inscription said that the temple has connection with Hyang Api (God of Fire) that was built in 9th century
